Or Die Trying

David Blaine promised to break the "holding your breath underwater" record or die trying.

He did neither.  He broke his promise.

Channel 7, WABC in NYC edited that promise out of one of their releases after his failure, even if it's still in Google news.

But this one they missed:

Doctor says Blaine doing well
Eyewitness News
(Upper West Side-WABC, May 5, 2006) – Submerged magician David Blaine got a check up from his doctor Friday afternoon.

The 33-year-old's vitals are strong, and he is doing well in his human aquarium. Blaine is breathing through a tube inside the eight foot water filled bowl for seven days.

But on Monday, at the end of his stunt, he will try and break the record by holding his breath underwater for just under nine minutes, or die trying.

You'll be able to see it live on Channel 7, during a primetime special called "David Blaine — Drowned Alive" beginning at 8:00 p.m.

He made a promise and chose not to keep it.  Where is the FCC?

If he kept that promise he would have helped put an end to stupid life threatening stunt shows on TV, a benefit to all.

But no, he chose to keep his life rather than his word.

What is this country coming to?

Doesn't anyone value a committment to do it or die anymore?
